5 Players to watch In The Northern Premier League

With the season only a few days away now after last season’s Women’s Northern Premier League was called to a halt early last season before coming void. With this season about to start, I wanted to make a piece about the 5 Players that are worth keeping an eye out for this season and that I can’t wait to see play once we are back underway.

Hollie Gibson – Stoke City Women

Hollie Gibson spent her time at Left Back at Aston Villa Women when we saw her but has made it her aim and goal to move to centre back where last season she made it her own in a partnership with Meg Bowyer. Hollie seems to grow everytime we get to see her play as she builds her confidence and the way she plays is with a calming nature.

Hollie probably won’t know how good she is until this season gets underway and see’s how key her partnership will be with Meg Bowyer, The Stoke City Women’s captain for the campaign. Hollie in the preseason games we have seen has been cool, collected and calm and read the game so well as she builds toward the opening day of the season.

Jasmine McQuade – Middlesborough WOmen

Jasmine is a player that I have only seen in highlights and via twitter or social media. But have a feeling this is going to be her breakthrough season with Middlesborough Women as it seemed last season before the finish she had really started to make an impact to the team. The young and talented player has been on fire in preseason it seems.

Jasmine again is something that I swear by an instant media impact. Which by that I mean she is infectious when you see her talk and desire to see her play. I’m looking forward to my first glimpse of this young and exciting talent when I get the chance too. Hopefully when they play away to Stoke City Women.

Keeley Davies – West Brom WOmen

It’s no secret that Keeley has been one of my favourites to go see and play for quite a while now. Since she joined West Brom she has always been a stand out player and person. She truly seems a player that is limitless and can achieve all she wants to achieve in her career.

West Brom had stabilized themselves in the division last year and we starting to build before the finish. I think this season they will grow and push on when we get back underway, Keeley will be a massive part of this as well as the engine in the middle of the pitch. Always smiling, always dancing and always making the fans smile in attendance.

Neve Farron – Sunderland Ladies

Neve is a player that defiantly is someone to watch this upcoming season for Sunderland Ladies. She loves to score a wonder goal or two as we saw at Clayton Wood against Stoke City. A young and talented player with a huge future in Women’s football.

Sunderland’s season was cut short when it looked like they was about to be crowned Champions but you can bet that Sunderland will be up the top of the table once again this season. Players like Neve will be pushing them to greater heights and be a player that you would never regret paying to see live.

Georgia Hewitt – Nottingham Forest Women

Georgia is someone that you will never ever see give less than 100% from whistle to whistle. Up and down the wing you will see Georgia on her toes to ethier stop the opposition or force the opposition back. Always seems to get better every game see her play.

Not only does she do the defensive side of the game well, and switch defence into attack but she is someone who likes scoring the old worldie when she feels like it. A big part of Nottingham Forest season going forward.
