Ella Franklin

Asmita Ale

Sponsored By Adam Nunn

19/20 Appearances – 8

Ella joined from Leicester City this season after a spell at Oxford United as well. In a short time Ella really showed why she is one of the best players in the FA Women’s Championship. Her work rate up and down the wing was truly incredible. Her season got cut short at Durham in the final minutes of the game, but she will come back stronger and better no doubt.

19/20 Appearances – 18

Asmita came through the Aston Villa RTC into the first team and has never looked back since. One thing you always know is that Asmita will preform ahead of her years at the back for Villa. She is also versatile and does whatever she is asked to do. Represents England at Youth level and no doubt will one day make the step up to the first team. Always fantastic on and off the pitch.

Elisha N'Dow

Natalie Haigh

Sponsored By Mark McLaclan

19/20 Appearances – 19

One of the main stays at Aston Villa, Elisha has worked on her game throughout her years at Villa and become one of the first name’s you would have on your team sheet. A real proper hard working centre back. You can always guarantee that any 40/60 ball that Elisha will do anything to win the ball back. You will often see Elisha weaving her way through the field from defence to attack as well.

19/20 Appearances – 18

Goals – 1

Nat joined Villa this season with an impressive CV that included Yeovil Town, Coventry City and Nordsjaelland. Natalie hit the floor running at Villa impressing every game she played. A real Centre Back who took no nonsense and a massive part of Villa’s season and a big part of them sitting top of the table. To me still the best CB in the Women’s Championship, strong and her positioning is always spot on.

Amy West

Marisa Ewers

Sponsored By Adam Nunn

19/20 Appearances – 20

Goals – 4

I always quote that West Is The Best, and ever since her debut against London Bees in 2015, 87 games later and not only is Amy still a massive part of the team, but she is still getting better and better. My name on my shirt for the last 4 years and my second year sponsoring Amy. Two decisions I never regret. A Villa fan, Amy has Claret and Blue in her heart and you can tell this every game. Last season won Aston Villa Player Of The Season and our fans Breakthrough Player in 16/17 which shows her journey.

19/20 Appearances – 20

Goals – 3

Marisa joined Aston Villa from Birmingham City this season, which seemed a world apart from what has happened in the past. I had seen Marisa play for Leverkusen and Birmingham City and was excited for her joining Aston Villa. She didn’t disappoint when you say someone is of a standard it is hard to keep at that level all the time but Marisa is consistently at such a high standard. Doesn’t mind scoring a banger or two as well. Our own Mercedes in the Centre of the pitch.

Jodie HUtton

Sophie Haywood

Sponsored By Danielle Hutton

19/20 Appearances – 13

Jodie is a special player for sure, someone that made her way through the Development into the first team. Last season was so key to the team going forwards this season she has been asked to play in a different role since she returned from Injury. Another player that represents England at Youth level and Jodie has made the wing back position her own this season.

19/20 Appearances – 19

Goals – 1

The girl with the red hair band in the Army Trial game. I wrote I hope she is as good as she looks. 1 and a half seasons in and it’s fair to say that she is even better than hoped at that time. The team has moved on since last season and a big part of this is Sophie’s work rate and skill on and off the ball. Sophie will give you everything on the pitch. Off the pitch one of the nicest people I have ever met as well, gives you all the time in the world.

Nadine Hanssen

Kerri Welsh

19/20 Appearances – 17

Goals – 3

Nadine joined Aston Villa last season from Genk Ladies and has become a stay in the starting line up ever since. Our very own Dutch Maestro in the middle, last season she adapted to English football and this season has excelled scoring some very important goals for Aston Villa. But it’s her overall play that is exciting to see as a fan from the sidelines. She always smiles around Boldmere and all the away grounds you see her at, a truly incredible person that you love to see representing your team.

Sponsored By Kevin Chapman

19/20 Appearances – 15

Goals – 3

Kerri is another player that means so much to the fans and to the team. Kerri hasn’t always had best luck with Injury’s but always bounces back and evolves as a player to help the team out. Not only on the pitch is she important but so important off the pitch as well to everyone involved with Villa. Her goal and celebration against Coventry United have to be one of the highlights of the whole season so far as well.

Daniella Kosinska

Phoebe Warner

19/20 Appearances – 4

Our young Polish Superstar, Natalie Haigh called her our Polish Cub. Someone that when she has had game time hasn’t let us down at all while she learns her trade. A clean sheet at The Valley and a Penalty save against Sheffield United is some of the highlights in her season. Such an amazing person off the pitch as well, someone that would love to know more of her story into arriving before Villa.

19/20 Appearances – 14 (11 For Nottingham Forest)

Goals – 2 (1 For Nottingham Forest)

Phoebe is one of the greatest people to ever join Aston Villa, bubbly, always smiling and her skills on the ball are something to behold. She has spent most of her season on loan at Nottingham Forest and has been smashing it for them on the wing. It’s been a pleasure to get to go see her play for Nottingham Forest this season. And her goal against Coventry United in the Conti Cup was a joy to see.

Charlotte Greengrass

Sophie Maierhofer

Sponsored By Michael Bennett

19/20 Appearances – 7

Goals – 1

Charlotte joined Aston Villa from Leicester City and had a very stop start season with Injury’s but her goal against Blackburn Rovers has to be a clear highlight in an absolute screamer. What we did see is that Charlotte was quite versatile in different positions. A strong player who has alot more to bring to the team when they get back on the pitch.

19/20 Appearances – 1

Not alot is know about Sophie so far but she came on to make her debut against Coventry United in what was the final game of the season so far. She is Capped by Austria in International football. If this season returns we will look forward into seeing what she can bring to Aston Villa Women.

sian rogers

jade richards

Sponsored By JDR Branding

19/20 Appearances – 17

My first sight of Sian was against Liverpool a few years back. You could tell she was a special player with the amount of saves she made. But she has proved over the last few seasons that she truly is one of the best keepers in the Women’s Championship but not only the Championship but I would say in England because even though she has had a quieter season than last. Whenever you need Sian, Sian is there to pull off a fantastic reflex save.

Sponsored By JDR Branding

19/20 Appearances – 10

Goals – 2

The only player that is left standing from my first ever Aston Villa game 6 years ago. But not only is she still apart of the squad but the Captain and still such a massive and key part of the team. You can always depend on Jade at the back, her partnership with Elisha over the years has been something can always depend on. So key to every step of the team and it’s development through the years and many more to come.

melissa johnson

shania hayles

19/20 Appearances – 20

Goals – 13

Melissa joined this season from Leicester City. A player that was so excited and happy to see sign after seeing her play for Derby, Sheffield and Leicester someone who is so explosive and dynamic on the ball. Her pace and her finish is something to behold for sure. 13 goals in 20 games, Player Of The Month and so much more Melissa had added to the team this season and a huge part of Villa sitting top of the Championship into the break.

19/20 Appearances – 19

Goals – 12

Shania joined from Birmingham City, probably with the least expectations of the 3 that joined from Birmingham. But from day one we have seen something special from Shania and into the end of the season she is scoring for fun and causing so many problems for the opposition attacks. 12 goals this season already for Shania and her link up play with Melissa has been incredible to watch as Villa attack and dominate defences.

emma follis

emily syme

Sponsored By Chiltern Online

19/20 Appearances – 16

Goals – 7

Emma had just left Villa when I first started watching, she was on the cover of my first programme but had gone to Reading. She returned to Villa this season from Birmingham City, she came with all the fanfare and the trimmings. An aggressive winger who likes to get a shot in at goal which has lead to her scoring 7 goals this season for Villa. Known for her set pieces and already bagging a few free kicks along the way for Aston Villa Women.

Sponsored By Chris Kavanagh

19/20 Appearances – 20

Goals – 3

Emily joined this season from Yeovil, I said I was looking forward to finding out about Emily as I didn’t know anything. And what a joy she has turned out to be, not only her goal celebrations and her smile as she bounces around like tigger. But her work on and off the ball is something truly fantastic and you can see why she is representing England at Youth level on a regular basis. You will always get 110% from Emily and seems to have an endless engine in the midfield.

Alice Hassall

Gemma Davies

Sponsored By Michael Bennett

19/20 Appearances – 4

Alice has had a season of fighting her way back from Injury but it just shows what a player and person she is. That she hasn’t let her Injury bring her down on her comeback to getting back on the pitch in the last couple of games of the season so far. In the past season she really stepped up and showed what a key player she is for Aston Villa Women.

Gemma is in her second season at Aston Villa Women, in charge of the team as the Gaffer. After losing 0-12 to Manchester United in her first game she has gone from strength to strength. As a fan you won’t always agree with what she does but you can see the work she is putting in that makes the team unified on and off the pitch.

Carly Davies

Tom Stack

Carly was a player when first saw Aston Villa play, a tough nonsense type of player that has brought that through into her coaching for Aston Villa Women. After working with the Development she has started to create the Aston Villa team we see today with Gemma Davies as well.

Tom Aka “The Terminator” is someone that truly deserves a shout out as well. We got to know him alot more this season and he gives us so much time and credit. Even at games away from Aston Villa. Hopefully he knows how appreciated he is among the fans. Someone that connects the fans to the clubs in ways that only he can.
