Fiorentina 0-4 Wolfsburg

After seeing the game on Wednesday against Wolfsburg I’d had a little taste of Fiorentina, while keeping Wolfsburg to a 0-0 in first half and it was the goalkeeper that kept them in the game as chance after chance fell to Wolfsburg. The second half it all fell apart as Wolfsburg kept things simple and Fiorentina was causing their own downfall too. Fiorentina had a few chances but couldn’t finish. Wolfsburg won the game easy In all fairness and will no doubt for me go through to the next round. The atmosphere was great as 3,500 Italians sang loud even when game was over. It was amazing to see Ellie Brazil playing in the champions league holding her own against the quality Wolfsburg have. Also so good to see players such as Lara Dickenman, Lena Gosßling, P.Harder play and see Tessa Wulleart in the same building who made my Wednesday and first day very awesome. First time ever had to show ID to get into a football match as well.
Fiorentina 1-1 Tavagnacco

The second game on Saturday was under the sun (in November indeed) I was asked before the game what I was thinking quality of Italian football was compared to the play I watch in England, this game might not of been how all games go but it seemed very one dimensional and didn’t match players strengths. There was a lot of theatrics and diving happening on both teams but suppose it was to be expected and a game that had two goals which both came from penalties. I was waiting for Ellie Brazil to come off the bench and make a difference to my interest. When Ellie came on she worked so hard to win the ball and the really annoying thing was the players didn’t seem to have the speed to push forward at will it was very much an open ball and run that the ball was lofted over top or played across pitch killing the attack. When the Icelandic, Einrasdottier came on as well her movement was great but the play ethier died down or the wrong ball was made. Maybe it a good thing that no one understood me with my annoyance. I feel Ellie is light years ahead of the rest of team. Talking with her after game really hope that she returns to England soon as love seeing her play easily the only person now I’d ever put on a England shirt. Back to the game I’m glad I went even if wasn’t best game I would go back as long as Ellie still there.
Overall the context is, Ellie Brazil is amazing and can change any game at anytime and deserves more game time in my opinion the team should be built around her as the other teams wouldn’t know how to handle it. Already looking forward to next time can see her play.
