It was a week with a midweek twist this game week. How many times can I say week without feeling weak but I digress. It gave me the chance to attend two games not just the one. With Midweek seeing Leafield Athletic and Solihull Moors share 4 goals in a 2-2 draw and Kidderminster Harriers take away Worcester’s undefeated streak with a 0-1 win Sunday. It also saw some postponed games and a walkover but a lot to fit in this week.

We start in Midlands Division One and copy and paste needed but Stourbridge once again dominated the points and the goals notching 16 goals and conceding the single goal in their two matches with a midweek victory away to Wem Town 0-6 before hosting Long Eaton at home in a 10-1 victory. It sees Andy Fishers team sitting on 24 points at the top of the table. Sporting Khalsa also played twice with a 7-2 victory over Long Eaton but fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Doncaster Belles. Doncaster Belles sit in second place but are two games behind Stourbridge but sit 9 points behind the leaders.

John Bennett’s Sheffield FC played twice also in the week one in the Midlands Division One which they came out on the wrong side of a 2-0 loss to Lincoln City, but picked up a 1-0 victory at home in the cup over Barnsley. The Posh Women took on The Cobblers and came out with a share of the points in a 1-1 draw in the week.

Leafield Athletic 2-2 Solihull Moors

The game that I attended on Wednesday night was Leafield Athletic hosting Solihull Moors at Tally Ho on a beautiful night. The two teams were very well matched on the night, the opening goal came with a screamer of an effort from.. Well you can guess it was Chloe Shirley who gave Leafield the lead in the first half. The second half saw a mistake which lead to Leonie Joyce doubling the lead early on in the second half.

But Leafield themselves will be kicking themselves for the way they let Solihull back into the game as the lead didn’t last long as Solihull hit a quick double to pull back level with goals from Cheyanne Jarvis and Lyndsey Ross-Baker. Both goalkeepers were key in making sure both teams left Tally Ho with a share of the points.

It was a little less chaotic in West Midlands Regional Premier League with 3 games taking place but it was meant to be 5 games. Burton Albion and Crusaders saw the fixture between them postponed and Redditch United were awarded a Walkover against FC Premier Sunday in the cup.

Ryan Hamilton saw his team go to the top of the League with a 1-0 victory over Sporting Solihull with a goal from Ruth Graham. Sutton Coldfield are equal on points and goal difference with Worcester City but have scored more goals so far as both teams sit on 12 points. The League itself is a bit up and down with some teams playing 2 games while others have played 5. In the other game it was a 7 goal thriller shared between Lye Town and Lichfield as Lye Town came out 4-3 winners.

Worcester City 0-1 Kidderminster Harriers

David Healy’s team took a visit to Worcester City to play the game that was rearranged from when the Queen passed away. Worcester City was unbeaten in the League but a game Kidderminster Harriers was coming to town with a point to prove.

It was quite an even game on the pitch with both teams looking to get the opening goal and by half time it was clear that it was going to be not alot in it by the final whistle. Holly Rogers rattled the crossbar in the first half and Macy Fox went close.

The only goal of the game came from the boot of Macy Fox, who finished expertly after a mistake at the back by Worcester City. Both keepers were on form to make sure that no more goals were scored in the game. A massive 3 points for David Healy and his team and just shows what they can do on and off the pitch. It was a real team performance and did all they needed to, to come out on top.
