As in 2019 I wanted to keep the Team Of The Month going into 2020 but as always want to try and make it better while doing it. The first month was an interesting one where got to see 4 games played. The first was a trip away to Castlecroft to see Wolvehampton Wanderers beat Birmingham West Midlands 2-0 on the 5th of Jan. That was followed up by Birmingham West Midlands drawing 2-2 with The New Saints at Boldmere on the 12th. The hatrick of Birmingham West Midlands games was completed when I got to see a new team in Redditch United Women in a very tough and competitive game Birmingham West Midlands walked out 2-1 winners. But as you will see by my Team Of The Month, Redditch left a lasting impression. The final game of the Month came when it was Women’s FA Cup time as Aston Villa Women took on Birghton & Hove Albion that saw the Super League team get the 2-3 victory and Villa’s FA Cup dream’s end.

This is my starting 11 from the games I got to see, the rating’s as simply 90 + how many times I saw them play in the month, which seemed a fair way of rating each player. As always I picked 20 players and this I moved it into a starting 11.

The Redditch United goalkeeper made some key and important saves to keep Redditch in the game against Birmingham WM. Not only great on the pitch but also been fantastic to chat to since on social media.

Redditch United
Boldmere's own little Ronaldo up and down the wing you will see her flying, straight from New York to Wolves as well showing her dedication for the team. So key to everything Birmingham West Midlands do.
Alex Liddiard - @AlexLiddiard
Birmingham West Midlands
Redditch United's tall CB worked hard all game and hardly stepped a foot out of her place when Birmingham West Midlands put them under pressure her partnership with Bailey was so impressive all game.
Abby Jackson - @Abby_Jackson18
Redditch United
Redditch United's CB who for me could of been Player Of The Match and was so unlucky to have to leave the pitch injured near the end, as mentioned with Abby their partnership together was top notch through the game.
Abbie Bailey - @Abbie50955514
Redditch United
So good to see Anna back on the pitch where she belongs. Anna always impressed at Villa Dev but you can see she has worked on her game and her set pieces and passing never go astray a real player for Wolverhampton.
Anna Morphet
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Long time fan of the classy midfielder from back when she played for Birmingham City you always know you will get pure work ethic and never wastes the ball when she has it. A real player maker for Brighton.
Emily Simpkins - @EKSimpkins
Brighton & Hove Albion
You always know that when you see Shannie play that you will see her work hard to win the ball and when she has it, she will spread the ball and be the play maker for Wolverhampton Wanderers alot of the play starts with Shannie.
Shannie Jennings - @ShannieJennings
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Alot of defence's struggle to deal with Holly as she has showed with her goal scoring form this season. A player that since the first game I seen her play she has only got better and better which is scary for the league going forward.
Holly Rogers - @Holly_Rogers1
Birmingham West Midlands
It's no suprise to anyone that for me this season the most consitent player I've seen is Nadine Hanssen and she only seem's to get better with each game that comes as well. Our Dutch superstar is a part of Villa's promotion push.
Nadine Hanssen - @NadineHanssen
Aston Villa
You will never see any less than 110% effort from Nadia, wherever she is asked to play she will take it and run with it. For me was Player Of The Match for Birmingham West Midlands against Redditch. Her work effort and drive got them back into the game.
Nadia Bacciochi - @NadiaBacciochi
Birmingham West Midlands
Nat promised that we had a real superstar in Shania and she hasn't disappointed. She was an impact sub that made such an impact she had to start and since she started she hasn't skipped a beat. Goal's in bunches and a real credit to Aston Villa.
Shania Hayles - @Shania_Hayles
Aston Villa

Many players I could of included and were on the shortlist as well. As always it was a fantastic month of Football that hopefully February can also compete with as well.

The Coaches for January were an easy choice with Marcus Webber the Birmingham West Midlands manager not only for his great work on the pitch but also off the pitch. Which again is another reason why Greeney is another easy pick as you’ll see him working hard before the game but he is always there to talk to anyone and make you truly feel welcome as part of the football family. Two top guys, two top coaches who keep going from strength to strength
