Leafield Vs Rugby Borough
The First Preseason Game Of The Season saw a visit from the artist formally known as Coventry United Ladies, Rugby Borough. A former Tier 2 team, playing the Women’s Championship. It would also be our first match in the new era of Leafield Athletic Ladies. A new look team, new management and a new ground heading into a new season.
In a game on a different pitch than expected and the weather going through seasons like Megan Jenkins was going through tackles, we gave a good account of ourselves in a first game together against a team that have been playing at a higher level. With players that have played in the Women’s Championship and in America. Many things that can be worked on but many positives too as build towards a brand new season.
Normally the match reports are more in depth and such but throughout preseason will just be a summary of how things are building toward the new season that starts on August 20th away to Sporting Khalsa in the FAWNL Midlands Division One.
