Villa Ladies showed once again that they willl be right up for this promotion race against a team in form and having only let one goal in so far in the league. Myers pulled off a cracking save to keep Durham at bay. But this was one of the only times that they managed to get past our defense. A few close chances for Villa in first half too were unlucky. 0-0 at half time and maybe the whistle came at right time as Durham started to build a little momentum. Welsh and Wilkinson both went close with speculative efforts. A double substitution brought a different element to the game as Mayling and Rouse proved too much for Durham to handle. Wilkinson scored once again to put the Villa Ladies 1-0 up after Rouse made it 2-0 securing the points.

Defensively strong all over the pitch, George, Crackle, Richards and N’Dow all played really well. The substitutes made a big impact as Mayling ran at Durham and her touch was incredible. Rouse caused all kinds of problems in front of goal for Durham as well.

Villa show that they are contenders for promotion once again by taking 6 points out of 9 against 3 strong opponents, Everton is the next game in the league for Villa at home which will be a huge game.
