Kidderminster Harriers 4-0 COundon COurt

Macy Fox, Bailey-Raine Hodge, Dani Selmes, Chloe Whyley

23/10/22 – 2.00pm – Kidderminster COE

West Midlands Regional Premier League.

It was time for a first trip to Kidderminster Harriers COE for my first game that Kidderminster had played at home. Up against Coundon Court on what had threatened to be a stormy day but the weather held out throughout the game. It was nice to chat to Molly Maguire and Chloe Whyley before the game got underway as well.

It was obvious from the start that Kidderminster were going to be on the front foot. It was clear to see that Macy Fox was going to be key in the game. She had a couple of sighters but it wasn’t long before she had the ball in the back of the net. On the 15th minute Chloe Whyley put in a fantastic ball for Macy Fox to run in behind the defence and she left the keeper with no chance as the ball bulged the net for a 1-0 lead.

Even though being in control of the game at 1-0 it’s a dangerous score to have as Daisy Jenkins had to be alert and pulled off an incredible save when it looked as if the scores was sure to be levelled. Bailey-Raine Hodge had already had a cross come shot hit the post earlier in the game. But on the 36th minute there was no doubt this was a shot and what a shot it was. Bailey composed herself and took aim hitting an incredible effort from distance into the top corner. Kidderminster were now 2-0 up. Coundon Court wasn’t going to go away without a fight and made sure Daisy Jenkins was on her toes once again. But the final chance of the half came to Dani Selmes but Megan Donohoe pulled off a fantastic save to deny her.

After her fantastic save in the first half she outdid herself with an incredible save on the 55th minute. Megan Donohoe was keeping her team in the game at this point. On the 59th minute a penalty was awarded after Dani Selmes made a great run and was brought down in the area. Selmes stepped up and smashed the penalty home to give Kidderminster the 3-0 lead just before the hour mark.

Macy Fox was in behind the defence once again and you almost expect the net to ripple but once again Megan Donohoe pulled off a great save again to keep the score at 3-0. There was one final goal with Bailey-Raine Hodge turning provider as she picked out Chloe Whyley who hit the ball hard and low into the back of the net to round of a 4-0 win for Kidderminster Harriers and move 2 points behind the leaders.

Once again it was a quality day out seeing Kidderminster Harriers, David Healy himself always welcoming as well as his staff as well who make you feel apart of the matchday and valuable to the experience. The players who are fantastic for sure great on the pitch but even more so off it, it seems. We spoke with Molly Maguire before with Chloe Whyley and with Molly after the game. I finally spoke to Layla Hart as well, even with being a bluenose she pretty awesome but again just fantastic to be in and around people who apricate you being at their game. It was nice to meet Clive as well and have a good chat with him as well as Usman as well.

Layla Hart “The Hart Of The Squad”

Molly Maguire “The Captain” Her best side is her right side apparently.
