2019/2020 Games  – 24 (1 Walkover)

15 Wins – 3 Draws – 6 Defeats

On the pitch they have helped moved Birmingham West Midlands (newly renamed to Boldmere Women) into what was a 2nd placed battle in the League behind Wolverhampton Wanderers who sat 9 points clear at the top of the table. But when you bring everything into account, this season saw pretty much an entirely new squad and team built to try and gel together on the pitch. The players will all tell you how great they are and how they bring them to enjoy their football and this is shown on the pitch also.

Off the pitch they are such a welcoming force as well, wether you are at the game or even just show an interest on social media. It truly is a team that you can see is influenced by behind the scenes as well.

Shannon Turner

Overall Appearances – 42

19/20 Appearances – 21

Goalkeeper for Birmingham West Midlands, always confident with Shannon in between the posts. Works with Greeney and Pulse GK to become one of the best goalkeepers in the league. Shannon is in her second season as number 1 at BWMLFC. Apparently she taught Greeney all he knows, well I’m saying so anyways. Always such a key player to Birmingham West Midlands and Boldmere as they go forward into next season. There will be times she has nothing to do but her concentration is on point as she will pull off a cracking save to make sure the opposition can’t get the ball in the back of the net.

Alex Liddiard – AKa “Boldmere’s Own Ronaldo”

Appearances – 21

Goals – 2

Wing back, Aka Alexnaldo. Classy on and off the ball. A superstar on and off the pitch. You’ll see Alex fighting for the ball to win it back and switching defence into attack in an instant. Up and down the wing throughout the game. Even though she only joined this season from Burton Albion she is already a huge part of the team. Alex does alot more also than what you see on the pitch as well for Boldmere as you will start to find out and see. But not only is the stuff off the pitch important but what she does on the pitch shows she truly is one of the best wing backs in the division, a huge player going forward for Boldmere Women. On my birthday Alex handed me a card that was for me which really meant alot as well. I sponsored Alex for the end of this season and of course she never let me down and has been a pleasure to chat too throughout the season.

Rhiannon Travers

Appearances – 17

Goals – 1

Rhiannon has Boldmere in her soul. She joined BWMLFC this season from Sutton Coldfield Town Ladies. Such a big personality on the pitch and plays big part in the team showing a psychical side at such a young age as well. I still remember seeing a young blonde girl working in the bar and wondering if she also played. This season has defiantly gave me my answer as always love to see Rhiannon play, I’ve joked with her before that she is two different people the one on the pitch is fierce and strong, looks solid as a rock and won’t let anyone mess with her. But she steps off the pitch and she one of the nicest people you’ll ever chat too. Easily became one of favorite people this season to chat too and see. Big season ahead for her coming up, hearing she scored goal of the season as well against Doncaster Belles. Memory wise so many again but just loving her song, smiling away and making us feel welcome is a huge part of why one of my favorites.

Laura Cooper – Bend It Like Coops

Overall Apperances – 26

19/20 Appearances – 20

Overall Goals – 10

19/20 Goals – 9

We knew of Laura because of her time at Aston Villa but she seems to of grew and become a more polished player. Always so classy on the ball wether she is assisting or wether she is scoring the goals for BWMLFC. You know from whistle to whistle that you will get everything and then a bit from Laura Cooper. Her passing and work ethic is something to behold certainly a key player for Boldmere Women in the upcoming season. In my opinion and maybe many others but one of the best players in the division for sure. Likes to score a classy goal every now and again as well. You wouldn’t want to mess with her nethier as she doesn’t mind backing herself and her team when she needs too.

Laura Cooper –

“This season has been a transitional one for us. With the majority of the team having not playing together before, we have played some great football, and are consistently learning from our mistakes. We’ll hope to push on again next season, and we have the right attitude to work hard and improve. We can’t wait to get going”

Lizzie Steele

Overall Appearances – 41

19/20 Appearances – 21

Overall Goals – 4

19/20 Goals – 3

Lizzie is a fantastic wing back for BWMLFC, started the season as Vice Captain but has stepped into the Captain’s role so well. Such a classy player on and off the ball and a classy person on and off the pitch. Might be no secret as I’ve said this a few times for me Birmingham West Midlands have best wing backs in the entire league and Lizzie is a huge part of this. She works so hard throughout the whole game winning the ball back and driving Birmingham West Midlands forward. As well as being a great player on the pitch, Lizzie is truly someone I’ve enjoyed chatting to away from the pitch after the games as she is so welcoming and nice to chat too and have a laugh with. A proper Captain leading the ship.

Daina Scott

Appearances – 22

Goals – 0

Daina joined BWMLFC from Solihull Moors this season and has played the most games this season. Working hard at CB for BWMLFC. Also seen her play in midfield as well in the first few games I saw BWMLFC play. Think it goes to show her importance to the team as she knocked up the most appearances in the season for Birmingham West Midlands throughout the season. A player that sometimes can be overlooked as she works hard and you don’t notice what she is doing as she does it effortlessly.

Jess Lundie

Appearances – 16

Goals – 13

We knew Jess as Green Boots in the past, we had seen her play for Bedworth United in the past, where she joined from this season. Quick and skillful with a real eye for goal. A real threat to any defence she comes up against. When Jess has the ball at her feet she is so hard to stop like she has velcro inside her boots as she weaves in and out of the opposition. Went through a tough time with having to miss some games due to Asthma but 13 goals in 16 appearances shows her dominance when she is on the pitch. A massive player once again for the upcoming season for Boldmere Women as well.

Tanya Dickinson

Appearances – 20

Goals – 5

Tanya joined BWMLFC this season from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The classy and hard working midfielder can be seen fighting and battling for the ball at all times. Brings the ball forward for BWMLFC throughout the games. You can tell her professionalism on the pitch as whistle to whistle she is focused on winning the ball back and driving the team forward. Tanya seems to have no fear also as she is another 110% player on and off the ball.

Jade Grove

Appearances – 19

Goals – 4

Jade joined this season and also plays for Hartpury as well. A huge personality in the team who doesn’t mind singing along with the Boldmere Army. The powerful striker holds the ball well and doesn’t mind adding a goal or two. I’m not sure wether I told Jade or not but to start with she was quite scary in one of my favorite moments of the season when she demanded we sung her song for her at the awards evening and joined in. Also singing Boldmere Army at us that truly made us feel appreciated like you wouldn’t believe. Like Holly as well a big memory of the season was when Jade came over at Wolverhampton and we had the picture where still can’t believe that Cerys Dolloway took it as well.

Holly Rogers

Appearances – 19

Goals – 14

Holly joined this season after an injury hit spell at Cheltenham Town Ladies. Holly also plays for Hartpury. A quick and skillful winger that gets BWMLFC forward and as her stats show this season has a real eye for goal. A player that didn’t really know much about as I had seen Cheltenham when she was injured but it didn’t take her long to impress this season. 14 goals in 19 games is only half the story as well if you add her assists. It’s been a pleasure to get to know of Holly this season, the awards evening, singing her song and her and Jade coming over to us at the Wolverhampton games add to her play on the pitch as well as being an awesome person off the pitch.

Holly Rogers –

“I was so nervous about joining the team as I have been at Cheltenham town since i was young and never looked elsewhere. since joining it was the best decision ever, I have enjoyed every single minute of playing with the girls and EXPERIENCING high quality coaching. The season was going so well until it had an abrubt end but we are in a good place as a team and next season will be even better as we have got to know each other really well. And also the way we play which will help us massively next season”

Nadia Bacciochi “Queen Of The Green”

Overall Appearances – 36

19/20 Appearances – 17

Overall Goals – 7

19/20 Goals – 3

Well Nadia, the player with the coolest strutt, the biggest hair, the most amazing smile and never ever gives up on any ball. Seen her play a few positions and she plays them all well. On the pitch amazing but off the pitch even more amazing a dual sports star as well. A player that can walk into a dark room and bring light to it. So many memories with Nadia in such a short time could mention, from waiting on her sassy moment. To the awards and the lion. But most of all just an awesome player and an even better person. I call her the Queen of the Green because she truly deserves to be so.

Millie Kirk

Appearances – 21

Goals – 4

Millie Kirk joined BWMLFC this season from Solihull Moors and I’ve seen her play in many different position’s for the team and impressed in all of them when she was called upon to do so. A player that always seem ready to go as soon as her boots hit the pitch. Sure she will add alot more to the squad next season as well.I remember we came up with a song for Millie that was about her scoring and she came on in defence just to show you her versatility.

Sam White

Appearances – 14

Goals – 2

Sam joined BWMLFC from Solihull Moors when the season had started but has made the move well as she plays in CM. She might be small in stature but she is a big play in the centre of the pitch. She was a key part of Birmingham West Midlands this season and will be key as they move forward as well. One of those players that give you 110% for 90+ minutes no matter what the score is. Still remember one of the games she got took out and all of her team mates were in hysterics as she looked in pain but soon as she was back to her feet she was laughing and smiling with them as well.

Steph Weston

Overall Appearances – 31

19/20 Appearances – 11

Overall Goals – 19

19/20 Goals – 6

Steph was one of the players last season that I remember from BWMLFC. Tricky and skillful it’s always a pleasure to get to see Steph do what she does best in front of goal and in middle of the pitch. An injury hit season so far but still bags the goals when she plays. I’d always looked forward to seeing Steph play but it seemed I was a jinx with this where she was injured, away or I wasn’t able to attend but I was so happy that I got to see her play against Wolverhampton Wanderers before the season finished.

pip harmison

Appearances – 6

Goals – 0

Pip joined BWMLFC from Solihull Moors this season and after a start playing 7 games was struck down with an Injury that she is still coming back from. Working hard to get back to a point where she can play once again. I’ve not been fortunate enough to see Pip play yet but away from the pitch she is an incredible person. Truly a pleasure to chat to her. One of my favorite memories that involve Pip was Crewe away at the Women’s FA Cup, even in defeat and that she hadn’t played she still came to make sure she said thank you for coming and spent time having a chat to us.

katie wilson

Appearances – 8

Goals – 2

I’ve only seen Katie a few times but as a young player coming through the ranks, she seems a real talent and maybe one of Boldmere Women’s secret weapons going forward, She has worked her way up through the U18’s and is still a big part of their team. We first saw her score against Burton Albion when she came on and took her chance well. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes in the future for Katie as the season gets back underway.

Erin Riden

Appearances – 7

Goals – 1

Erin has just recently joined BWMLFC from Coventry United Ladies and has hit the ground running. Playing at CB she hit the ground running and blended in with ease showing her class. She has very big shoes to fill trying to replace Ash Hargreaves but she gave a great account of herself even getting her first goal for the team. Always great to catch up with her parents as well from the Development days at Aston Villa.

Orla Conlan

Appearances – 3

Goals – 0

Another player who joined but haven’t seen to much of as Orla joined Birmingham WM near the end of the season. She made her debut against Bedworth United in a crazy game and didn’t look out of place at all, looking forward to seeing what she does in the upcoming season.

NaTasha Rothery

Appearances – 1

Goals – 0

Tash joined from Burton Albion and is a central midfielder that will no doubt be looking to impress as soon as her debut comes around. I haven’t as yet seen her play for Birmingham West Midlands but will be looking no doubt to stake a claim when she is back training.

Ash Hargreaves

Overall Appearances – 28

19/20 Appearances – 9

Overall Goals – 2

19/20 Goals – 1

I only managed to see Ash play a few times for Birmingham West Midlands before she moved on, but you could tell how key she was at CB and as a Captain. She has moved into her role at Aston Villa Women. But in the games I saw Ash was a strong and commanding, calm CB that was key to Birmingham West Midlands.
