So I decided the other day to talk about Kathryn Pagan in a little more depth as it was. In a time of reflection from how things have gone as football has evolved, the experience the people that come and go one thing has been a constant in that time.

Kathryn Pagan

I can’t say for sure when I first saw Kathryn but it would of been in Aston Villa Development, a team we loved to see as much as seeing the first team and Kathryn was a big part of that team as well. As Mark quoted once Midfield Dynamo which turned into her song that he still sings today. KP even though a Birmingham City fan (We can’t hold that against her) always looked great wearing the claret and blue in the times we got to see her play.

Kathryn would always be a player that when she did move on from Aston Villa that was going to be making an impact. Using FA Fulltime (Which isn’t always accurate but it only way of finding old stats and such) Kathryn was at Coventry United Ladies Reserves in the 2016/17 season where she made 17 appearances scoring the 3 goals.

Kathryn in the 2017/18 season moved into West Bromwich Albion LFC Reserves making 15 appearances and scoring 6 goals, but as well as her goals at WBA she was always not afraid to truly put the graft in.

Kathryn forced her way into the first team with her work in the West Bromwich Albion LFC Reserves as well, 2018/19 saw her play 18 Reserves games scoring 10 goals and making 7 Appearances in the first team scoring the one goal.

The 2019/20 season saw Kathryn move to Solihull Moors where she was an ever presence with 19 appearances with 9 goals but Kathryn was always a player that gave 110% when you saw her play. And proved that in 2020/21 as well scoring 3 goals in the 9 games we was able to play during a stop start season.

In her final season with Solihull Moors she played 13 games scoring 8 goals. So in her time at Solihull Moors, Kathryn knocked up 41 appearances scoring 20 goals for the team.

Wem Town was a move for Kathryn Pagan that seemed a good one at the time with David Healy in charge as well but things never quite worked out in the time it would take to travel for games and training as well as other things but Kathryn still managed to score 4 goals in 10 games for Wem. I’m not sure if this will be one of the best moves but it lead to her final move which is the mighty yellow and black of Leafield Athletic.

So onto the move that I believe I can say that is one that has found Kathryn loving her football again. I know I have chatted with her about Leafield and her love for the team and the players and staff around her. So far Kathryn has seen 21 appearances for Leafield and 6 goals, but she adds so much more every single game with her never say die attitude and pure determination to do well for the team.

Kathryn not only on the pitch is a true gem but off it as well one of the nicest people you will ever meet. A big part of me coming back to see Leafield was Kathryn telling me she was staying because good people create good spaces. She will never be one that will look for headlines or one that will try and steal someones thunder. A person that truly loves the game and what comes with it. Someone that will work her socks off game in and game out for the team and her team mates.

But this goes more than just for Leafield but in Women’s football as well if there was more people like Kathryn in the game, the game itself would be a better place. KP is a wonder and it’s no wonder why she is such a key player for any team she is involved with all I can say is, I am glad it is with Leafield Athletic.

Without the time before Coventry United Ladies Reserves she has (according to FA Fulltime) made 121 appearances and scored 47 goals in her time in the mix of the FAWNL. But as I mentioned before this only tells a little bit of the story and the legend that is KP. And one final thing is this gem off her facebook that I had to post as a final bit, the one the only Kathryn Pagan.

A legend that is Karen Carney with a young and future legend Kathryn Pagan.
