Q&A

First off how excited are you to be playing in the final on Sunday of the Nightingale Cup?

Grace – I’m Really Excited to be playing in the final Sunday. It’s a big moment                                    for myself and the team and we are all looking forward to it.

Do you think it was important to have these cup competitions created instead of just playing out friendlies till the end of the season? Is it something you would like to see happen more in preseason?

Grace – I think it’s much better having this competition in place rather than just     playing Friendlies. It Gives the games a purpose and gives the teams invovled something        to play for. It also helps prepare better for the new season with the level of         competition involved in this cup.

With so much of the last two seasons being null and void how excited and hopefully are you that this season will be a long and successful one with your club?

Grace – Everyone at the Wood is really excited for the new challenge we have ahead of us next season. We are moving into the regional league and we all feel as though we are ready for the step up and the further challenges that will come with it.

Who is a key player to look out for on the day on your team? and is their anyone you are looking out for on the opposition team?

Grace – I don’t think there is one specific player in our team that opposition needs to look out for, everyone brings their own individual talent to the team and will cause problems to tamworth in different ways. We have alot of diversity in th way our players prefere to play which will benefit us on the day. As a team we don’t look at the opposition players and pick out who we need to keep an eye on, the focus is on us and our game and how we set up to win the game.

How has your journey to the final been? who have you played along the way?

Grace – We’ve had a good journey leading into the final with only dropping points against Leek in the opening games. Our first 3 games were against Dover, Norton Canes, Shrewsbury and Leek. Then we played Cresswell in the league stages, Stone Dominoes in the quarter finals and Stafford town in the semi final.

With both teams making the final what kind of game do you expect and do you think it is important to win to build towards next season?

Grace – I think the game on Sunday will be challenging, competitive and full of good quality football. We’re going into the game with nothing to lose and everything to win. If we win or lose it won’t determine our fate for next season because as long as we play as well as we know we can, and put in a good shift we can learn and improve from the game whatever the result.
