Stoke City Reserves

Vs

Nottingham Forest Reserves

This Sunday I’m looking forward to seeing both Stoke City Reserves and Nottingham Forest Reserves for the first time. I’ve tried to plan and see Stoke City Reserves at times but the weather has won out but thankfully a date set at Clayton Wood will allow us to see Becky Arnold Vs Julia Tamasy.

But so much more as well as Nottingham Forest sit 2nd in the table and Stoke City sit in 3rd position. The Weather has really effected both team’s momentum in getting game time in as in the league Forest have completed 4 games and Stoke City have completed 3 games. Both teams have 2 wins each with Nottingham Forest also picking up 2 draws. But have already faced each other once in the cup where Nottingham Forest beat Stoke City 1-6 so Stoke will be looking to pay back that result.

Stoke City Reserves have played 8 games this season with 4 wins 2 draws and 2 losses so far this season, where Nottingham Forest have played double the amount of games, 16 games with 12 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss. Both teams will be looking to put on a show to those who attend the game at Clayton Wood.

Becky Arnold

Stoke City Women Reserves Captain, Becky Arnold was good enough to answer a few questions about the reserve team to help us find out a little more ahead of the game.

= First off, How excited are you to be playing again after such a stop and start season so far?

Becky – It feels so great to finally have a game after such a long period of time off the pitch. However that hasn’t stopped us from working hard and improving as a team! We’re all really looking forward to Sunday’s game for certain!

= Its second Vs Third in the league with Nottingham Forest sitting 2 points ahead of you but having played a game more, is this already an important game even with such little games being played so far this season?

Becky – Sunday is an important game as any, it’s a league fixture and we certainty don’t want to drop any points! It will be a tough fixture to play having losing to Nottingham Forest in the Cup but there’s no time like the present to get back to winning ways! I have full confidence in the girls on Sunday!

= For those who might be seeing Stoke City Reserves for the first time what can you tell us about the team and to expect for? Who should we look out for?

Becky – For those of you who are fresh to the Reserve team sidelines, I can assure you that you’ll see real heart and desire with togetherness across the pitch! We’re all really hard working and eager to win, no doubt there will be some quality football down at Clayton Wood! The One to Watch will be Sophie Garrett (Midfielder) and her magic feet.

= What are you hopes and expectations for this season as you get to play?

Becky – We would obviously like to retain the league winners title. However, we just focus on each week and each game as it comes. We reflect in training and work harder to improve and to do the best we can.

= Who is your manager and what are they like on the sidelines?

Becky –

Manager – Tom Read

Assistant – Henry Knight

Coach – Lou Roberts

Together we have the perfect blend of staff and coaches. Tom is very Passionate, Henry is fun and relaxed. Lou is really driven and supportive and the girls can relate alot to Lou having been a player at the club for quite some time herself in previous years.

= In your team who would you say is  :

Becky –

Fastest – Jodie Foxhall

Strongest – Jordann Sloan

Funniest – Sophie Taylor

Craziest – Jordann Sloan

Most Likely to get Booked – Sophie Thompson

Most Likely to say Duck – That’s Probably Me.

Thank you Becky for her time and answering a few questions on the reserve team and I can say that I am looking forward to seeing Becky and her team take on Nottingham Forest at Clayton Wood, This Sunday with a 3pm kick off.
